Festa del Perdono

I Festa del Perdono nascono da tre membri della band punk Kobra che, dopo aver perso il loro batterista, iniziano a sperimentare con synth e batterie elettroniche nel salotto di casa. Da quei pomeriggi giocosi prendono forma i primi cinque brani che diventeranno l’EP Società Mentale.

Un anno dopo danno vita a un nuovo progetto diviso in due atti e dedicato al tema delle ombre: Galactic Jazz Night Pt.1 – Nella Regione della Notte Infinita.

Il suono dei Festa del Perdono è radicato nel background punk pluridecennale dei membri, già attivi in Spirito Di Lupo, Cerimonia Secreta e altri progetti, oltre che fondatori del collettivo/etichetta Sentiero Futuro Autoproduzioni.

L’immaginario e i testi della band si allontanano dal nichilismo punk più tipico e si avvicinano a una forma personale di misticismo anarchico. Cicli cosmici, guide spirituali, profezie millenarie, poteri psichici, angeli e società segrete ricorrono nei loro testi evocativi. Il gruppo può essere letto anche come un progetto filosofico, un tentativo di ampliare il campo del possibile attraverso l’arte — in questo caso, la canzone pop.

Le loro canzoni raccolgono l’eredità del punk italiano di Stigmathe, Wretched e Contropotere, mescolandola alle atmosfere oniriche del pop mistico anni ’80 di Franco Battiato.

Festa del Perdono was formed by three members of the punk band Kobra who, having lost their drummer, began experimenting with synths and electronic drums in their living room. Those playful afternoons gave rise to the first five songs that would make up the EP Società Mentale.

A year later, they launched a new project divided into two acts, dedicated to the theme of shadows: Galactic Jazz Night Pt.1 – Nella Regione della Notte Infinita (In the Region of Endless Night).

The sound of Festa del Perdono is rooted in the decade-long punk background of the band members, who have played in Spirito Di Lupo, Cerimonia Secreta, and others, and are the founders of the collective/label Sentiero Futuro Autoproduzioni.

The band’s imagery and lyrics move away from typical punk nihilism and toward a personal form of anarchic mysticism. Cosmic cycles, spirit guides, millennial prophecies, psychic powers, angels, and secret societies recur throughout their evocative lyrics. The group can also be understood as a philosophical project, an attempt to broaden the field of possibility through art — in this case, the pop song.

Their music draws on Italian punk bands such as Stigmathe, Wretched, and Contropotere, while blending in the dreamlike atmospheres of Franco Battiato’s mystical pop of the 1980s.
