Fight Pausa

Carlo Luciano Porrini, in arte Fight Pausa, è un produttore, artista e polistrumentista della provincia di Varese.

Nato nel 1992 da genitori appassionati di musica, si avvicina alla chitarra a otto anni. Durante l’adolescenza studia chitarra, batteria e canto, mettendo presto a fuoco la passione per la composizione e l’arrangiamento. Si laurea a Milano e parallelamente coltiva la musica con il progetto Leute insieme a Luca Galizia (Generic Animal), con cui pubblica nel 2016 il primo album per Legno Dischi e suona in tutta Italia fino al 2017.

Dal 2018 si dedica interamente alla musica, iniziando a lavorare come produttore e compositore per diversi artisti della scena italiana: Massimo Pericolo, MYSS KETA, Post Nebbia, Nicolaj Serjotti, HAN, Cecilia, montag, Visconti e lo stesso Generic Animal, per il quale produce il terzo album Presto, pubblicato da Island / Universal Music Italia nel 2020 con featuring di Massimo Pericolo, Joan Thiele e Franco126.

Durante gli anni di formazione definisce le sue principali influenze: emo e post punk lo accompagnano fin dall’adolescenza, insieme alla musica elettronica e sperimentale, al jazz e all’indie rock. La musica programmata con computer e sintetizzatori si intreccia presto con una forte attitudine all’improvvisazione, alla performance e a un approccio molto personale allo strumento.

Nel 2018 fonda con Palazzi D’Oriente il progetto sperimentale 72-HOUR POST FIGHT, dove convergono elettronica, emo, jazz e hip-hop. La band pubblica due album per La Tempesta Dischi (2019 e 2022) e condivide il palco con artisti come James Blake, Battles, black midi, Mount Kimbie, Actress, Theo Parrish, Andy Stott e Flume, esibendosi tra le altre occasioni anche al Club To Club di Torino.

Il progetto Fight Pausa accompagna da anni il percorso artistico di Carlo, spesso dietro le quinte: firma produzioni e composizioni per numerosi brani e album, propone show di improvvisazione dal vivo e dj set, e collabora con molti artisti ai loro progetti.

A gennaio 2024 viene selezionato per una residenza artistica di un mese alla Casa degli Artisti di Milano, dove inizia a lavorare al suo album di debutto solista. Durante quel periodo collabora con diversi musicisti alla scrittura e produzione delle tracce che diventeranno “House Baby”, una collezione di 13 brani in cui Fight Pausa si espone anche come cantante e musicista, unendo elettronica, alt-country, slacker rock e hip-hop in un suono organico e personale.

Carlo Luciano Porrini, known as Fight Pausa, is a producer, artist and multi-instrumentalist from the province of Varese, Italy.

Born in 1992 to music-loving parents, he picked up the guitar at the age of eight. During his teenage years he studied guitar, drums and singing, quickly developing a strong interest in composition and arrangement. He later graduated in Milan while continuing to pursue music through the project Leute, together with Luca Galizia (Generic Animal). In 2016 the duo released their first album on Legno Dischi and performed across Italy until 2017.

Since 2018 he has dedicated himself entirely to music, working as a producer and composer for several artists from the Italian scene, including Massimo Pericolo, MYSS KETA, Post Nebbia, Nicolaj Serjotti, HAN, Cecilia, montag, Visconti, and Generic Animal, for whom he produced the third album Presto, released by Island / Universal Music Italia in 2020 and featuring Massimo Pericolo, Joan Thiele and Franco126.

During his formative years he shaped his main musical influences: emo and post-punk accompanied him throughout adolescence, alongside electronic and experimental music, jazz and indie rock. Computer-based production and synthesizers soon intertwined with a strong inclination toward improvisation, live performance and a very personal approach to instruments.

In 2018 he founded the experimental project 72-HOUR POST FIGHT together with Palazzi D’Oriente, merging elements of electronic music with emo, jazz and hip-hop. The band released two albums on La Tempesta Dischi (2019 and 2022) and shared stages with artists such as James Blake, Battles, black midi, Mount Kimbie, Actress, Theo Parrish, Andy Stott and Flume, also performing at the Club To Club festival in Turin.

The Fight Pausa project has accompanied Carlo’s artistic path for years, often behind the scenes. He signs productions and compositions for numerous songs and albums every year, performs improvisational live shows and DJ sets, and collaborates with artists on a wide range of projects.

In January 2024 he was selected for a one-month artistic residency at Casa degli Artisti in Milan, where he began developing ideas for his debut solo album. During that period he worked with several musicians on the writing and production of the tracks that would become “House Baby”, a collection of 13 songs in which Fight Pausa also emerges as a singer and musician, blending electronic music, alt-country, slacker rock and hip-hop into an organic and personal sound.
