Quercia

/

Quercia formed in 2016 in Iglesias, Sardinia, and over the years have established themselves as one of the most compelling bands in the Italian emo and post-hardcore scene. Built on self-production, extensive live activity and a fiercely independent spirit, their journey has led them to develop a distinctive musical language that combines punk urgency, emotional intensity and sonic exploration.

Their music is rooted in emo, post-hardcore and screamo, gradually expanding towards post-rock influences and increasingly elaborate songwriting. Tense, melodic guitars, sudden bursts of energy and moments of vulnerability coexist in compositions driven by Italian lyrics, where personal experiences, anxiety, memory and transformation become shared emotions.

The band made their debut in 2016 with the EP “Non è vero che non ho più l’età”, followed by “La notte che guidavo solo” in 2017. In 2019, they released their first full-length album, “Di tutte le cose che abbiamo perso e perderemo”, a record that consolidated their identity while broadening their expressive range. Their next album, “Dove si muore davvero”, arrived in 2023, marking another step forward in the band’s evolution, with more intricate arrangements, emotional tension and new melodic directions.

In 2026, ten years after their formation, Quercia released “mentre i monsoni curano e scuotono l’erba rimasta,” via Anchors Aweigh Records, further demonstrating their desire to explore new musical territories while preserving the intensity that has defined their sound from the beginning.

That same year also saw the release of “Stagno”, a mini-album created in collaboration with Cosmetic and released by La Tempesta Dischi, with the physical edition handled by To Lose La Track. Bringing together two bands from different generations and geographical backgrounds within the Italian underground, the project goes far beyond the traditional split release, becoming a genuinely collaborative creative experience. Both bands contributed to each other’s compositions and arrangements, stepping away from their familiar musical identities to explore a more synthetic, atmospheric and experimental sound, shaped by drum machines, synthesizers and unconventional textures.

The result is another expression of the curiosity and creative freedom that have driven Quercia since their earliest days: a band constantly evolving without losing its identity, moving across genres and musical languages while continuing to embrace music as a space for connection, transformation and shared experience.
