Cosmetic

The Raveonettes, Warpaint, Amusement Parks on Fire, Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely State), Ministri, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Marlene Kuntz, Verdena e molti altri.

Hailing from the deep Romagna province, Cosmetic emerged in the early 2000s and soon became a cult name in the Italian underground scene. A guarantee when it comes to “alternative” music, the band has always blended pop songwriting with elements of alt-rock, emo, and shoegaze in Italian, creating a unique and recognizable sound.

With seven albums under their belt, Cosmetic’s journey began with self-produced demos and years of honing their craft. In 2007, their debut album Sursum Corda was released by Tafuzzy Records and Cane Andaluso. However, it was La Tempesta Dischi that brought them national recognition with their seminal albums Non siamo di qui (2009) and Conquiste (2012), solidifying their status in the alternative scene.

In recent years, under the wing of To Lose La Track, Cosmetic has continued to refine and expand their sonic identity while staying true to their roots. In 2022, with Paura di Piacere, the band stopped gazing at their shoes and delivered the most pop and outgoing record of their two-decade-long career, pushing towards new melodic solutions without losing their distinctive attitude.

Tracks like “La linea si scrive da sola”, “Scranio”, and “In faccia al mondo” have taken Cosmetic on tour, into playlists, and into the ears of kids worldwide, further cementing their reputation. Over the years, they have shared the stage with Dinosaur Jr, The Raveonettes, Warpaint, Amusement Parks on Fire, Empire! Empire! (I Was a Lonely State), Ministri, Fast Animals and Slow Kids, Marlene Kuntz, Verdena, and many more.

On February 28, 2025, their album Normale will be released via To Lose La Track and La Tempesta publishing.

In 2026, Cosmetic reunite with La Tempesta Dischi for the release of Stagno, a mini-album created in collaboration with Quercia. Bringing together two bands from different generations and backgrounds within the Italian underground scene, the project goes far beyond the traditional split release. Both bands step into each other’s musical worlds, sharing songwriting, arrangements and recording sessions. The result is a truly collaborative work in which their distinct identities intertwine, exploring new creative possibilities while staying true to their roots.
